Top 3 Audemars Piguet watches

Audemars Piguet watches are not just any regular watches; there are a lot of those available in the market anyway. What this company does is unmatched to this day. They bring in a number of different experiences from around the world, from arts to nature and combine those together to somehow incorporate those ideas into their watchmaking. This is what sets them aside from every other watch company. The top 4 Audemars Piguet watches are listed below.

1.    Royal Oak Self Winding

What sets this watch aside, and the entire Royal Oak series is the dial print on this watch. The watches in the Royal Oak collection have a Grande Tapisserie pattern on them and this particular watch adds to the uniqueness of it all with a blue dial with that pattern. The dial has white gold hour markers and luminescent hands. The case of this watch is stainless steel while the glass is sapphire with anti-reflective properties. The self-winding trait of this watch is what gives it the precise timekeeping qualities and believe it or not, this Audemars Piguet watch uses 280 components in order to bring it all together!

2.    Millenary 4101

Another exceptional design amongst the rest of the Audemars Piguet watches, the Millenary 4101 design is an inverted design so that the elements and display that are usually on the underside of the watch are now on the actual dial display. The casing on this watch is made up of 18-carat pink-gold case and has a sapphire crystal glass. The dial of this watch is its main focus. The actual dial disc in the watch is not in the centre, it has subdial for seconds and the watch hands are also made of pink-gold. It is the details on a watch that justify the worth of it. This watch is a great example of this, where the strap of this watch is a hand stitched brown alligator skin strap.

3.    Jules Audemars Self Winding

This gorgeous watch is one of the manufacturer’s more ornamented watches. This watch has a brown alligator-skin strap. The main focus of the watch is the design inside the dial of this watch; the dial has a circle inside it a textured design within that circle. The texture seems like the surface of a golf ball but if you look at the design from a distance it forms a flower of some sort. It is almost as if the watch design is playing mind games on you. The bezel of this watch is ornamented with diamonds and the hourly markings are also diamonds which makes a total of 72 diamonds used in the manufacturing of this watch. It also includes a date feature, which is a great plus for people when they are deciding which watch they should buy.

Audemars Piguet watches have a classy look to them. Owning a watch by the company is a dream for most people since there are very few watchmakers who manufacture watches of the quality and standing of an Audemars Piguet watch.

History behind the Rolex Milgauss

Every watch collection that has ever been released by Rolex, has a strong reason and purpose behind its release. So basically, the watches are designed and manufactured to fit the requirements of people who work in different fields and factories. For example, the Submariner was specifically designed to fit the requirements of professional divers, the Yacht-Master was supposed to help with the timing and precision that is required by sailors. In the same manner, the Rolex Milgauss was designed to meet the requirements of scientists and other professional personnel whose job required long hours being spent in power plants and labs for research purposes.
The issue with wearing regular watches to such workplaces was that the intense magnetic rays of the powerplants and such facilities, messed up with the working of the watches. So that watches either ended up having a defective mechanism due to magnetism or they just stopped working altogether. So the workers had to make do with watches that did not work, or choose to not wear a watch once and for all.

This trouble kept going unnoticed until the renowned watchmaking brand, Rolex, decided to design something outstanding and really helpful for the employees to work with. This is when the Rolex Milgauss was introduced to the world in the decade of 1950s. But before it could be made available on a larger scale, a test run was arranged by the company at the most respectable physics lab, called CERN. During this successful test run, it was recorded that not only could the Rolex Milgauss resist magnetic rays, but it could resist the rays intensity up to 1000 gauss which was an unbelievable achievement for the brand.

This watch not only looks better when worn, but it has played a huge role in helping people to be more productive in their workspace. It has successfully solved a lot of problems that the scientists had been facing for quite some time regarding keeping track of the time.

While the other watch collections by Rolex have been considerably elaborate, the release of the Rolex Milgauss watches was not anything grand. The company has only released two pieces of the Rolex Milgauss since the 1960s and the 1970s. Then during the 80s, the Milgauss collection by Rolex was discontinued by the company for a long while till it was almost itself it was never released by Rolex at all.

In 2007, new and improved versions of the original Rolex Milgauss were released by the brand which was not that far off from the original design but they definitely had some prominent variations when compared to the previous models. An outstanding feat that was added to the newer Milgauss watches was that they were now even more resistant to the magnetic fields and its effects than the watches that had been designed before them. An interesting fact about the Milgauss collection by Rolex is that it has a magnetic flux symbol on the watch but that symbol can only be accessed by a watchmaker that has been exclusively certified by the company.
